He was the president for all Zambians. It is surely a sorrowful news as many people felt disheartened after listening to this news. Who was Rupiah Banda?
Rupiah Banda was born in the early 1950s, he was the president of Zambia from 2008 to 2011. He was indeed one of the most loved person of the country. People started to search more information relating to his sudden demise, but sadly, it wasn’t sudden. Rupiah was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2020. He went through extensive medication and other medical assistance. But sadly on 12th March 2022, he died. At the age of 27, Rupiah was elected as the ambassador of Zambia for Egypt country. But within a year, he needed to resign due to the 6 days war. Later, at the age of 30, he became the ambassador of Zambia for United States and moved to Washington, D.C. Later he stood for elections in Zambia and in 2008 he was successfully elected as the president of Zambia. He was one of the liberal persons who believed in prosper and growth. He was keen to develop the rural area and bring advancement to the place he was ruling. He was totally committed to bring security, stability, and prosperity to the country of Zambia.

Even after giving all the comfortable development within the country, in 2011, he had to be moved from the president’s post of Zambia. Reasons were many, but it was for good. Even without been a part of the politician party anymore or being in power, Rupiah Banda kept serving people. He was fondly called “the President for all Zambians” and his leadership will be dearly missed, especially during this trying time that the nation faces now due to losing their 4th Republican president since independence from Britain occurred way back when.
